Planting Ideas at The Erotic Woman!

I am very excited to have a new story up at The Erotic Woman! “The Plant on the Mantel” just went live today—direct link here.

I’ll also mention that it is accompanied by quite a hot picture that I suspect Erotica Cover Watch would have appreciated! ;)

I’m delighted to be published at TEW again (alongside many friends of mine) and send out big thanks to its editors for making “The Plant on the Mantel” today’s featured erotica!

Love,
Emerald

As I listened to her voice and saw amidst her hesitation a hint of arousal, I started to get hard. This had turned her on. There was no question. She wouldn’t be so shy about relating it now if she hadn’t felt turned on by the letter.

and the pic is hot indeed..i love how she grabs his hair and takes the power over him..and his scras i love too

  2. Yes, the image was excellent, and I would think ECW approved.

But the story is the real star, and that’s just how it should be.

    Very nice.

  3. I so love this story, and expect the plant on the mantel will linger long in my memory!

The image they chose is very sexy. I also love her hand twisting his hair, her control although she is so slight and he takes up much space with his buff body. It’s not an obvious match to the story for the literal-minded, though, unless this is a preview of what the plant will see in the future ;-)?

I was totally carried away by this. I love how it accelerates from eggshell walking to abandon. Brava, Emerald!

Another great story Emerald…I love the slow build. I especially love the setting…old houses have such mystery, and stories yearning to be told. I wonder, was there a particular inspiration for this one?

  6. Congratulations!

Thank you all, so very, very much (and welcome Dorla)! I really appreciate your reading and commenting.

Hi Jacque! I find it interesting that you asked—yes, there were a few particular inspirations around this story. First, I wrote it shortly after I had just read a story by Donna George Storey (“Watch on the Danube”) that I found deeply beautiful. It was from it that I suspect I was feeling the quiet, “slow build,” mysterious atmosphere and aesthetically dark vision as well as the pondering of generations.

The plant part is largely autobiographical—my mother does have a plant that used to be at my grandparents’ house that she says was around when she was a kid. A few years ago she cut shoots (or something like that—I know little about plant terminology!) from it to give to my sisters and me, so I have an “offspring” of the plant in my home.

After I read Donna’s story, I was walking around my apartment in the dark, and my eye fell on the plant. That was when the story seemed to spark. I do remember my mother telling me years ago that she had found out after her mother’s death that she (her mother) had had an affair. I remember finding that interesting—to not know that until after her mother had died….

From those things, the story just seemed to come together. I wrote it in about three hours, all at once and in order, which has been rare in my writing process.

Thank you again everybody; I really appreciate your support and comments!

    Xoxo
