One Week Until Passion Reading and Happy (Belated) Halloween!

The reading for Passion: Erotic Romance for Women at Word bookstore in New York City (Brooklyn) is only a week away! Even as I spend this week in Las Vegas (probably my very favorite vacation spot after Walt Disney World), I am looking forward to traveling next week to New York for the official Passion reading, the details for which may all be found here or here!

This year for Halloween, I dressed as the Queen of Hearts. Depending on how one interprets the costume—I did so as supportive of and honoring the heart; thus it seems romance could fit in there somewhere ; )—it seemed an appropriate prelude to the upcoming reading! So, amongst my slate of Halloween pictures this year, I included the one above posing with the book in anticipation of this event. : ) I’m very much looking forward to a heart-filled evening next Thursday, November 11, as I read from my story “If” in Passion with the fabulous lineup of other authors editor Rachel Kramer Bussel has scheduled to read!

As I’ve already mentioned, the reading will be the day after Rachel’s 35th birthday, so it is in part a celebration as such! There will be free cupcakes, and in addition to Rachel and myself, Passion contributors Donna George Storey and Monica Day and historical romance author Sara MacLean will be reading!

The event is at Word bookstore in Brooklyn (126 Franklin Avenue) next Thursday, November 11, at 7:00 p.m. If you’re in the area, we’d love to see you there! : )

Love,
Emerald

You make a truly stunning queen of hearts *sigh*. If only I could be there – wish Rachel a Happy Birthday from me, won’t you? And have a wonderful time.

Justine! Thank you so much, firstly, and secondly I’m so glad you’re here because I have been wanting to tell you that I read “Lingua Franca” (it was one of the first stories I read when I got the anthology because I had enjoyed the excerpt you posted so much), and I LOVED it! I really enjoyed it so much—hot, beautiful, sexy, and I definitely found it romantic! So thank you for it, and I’m honored to have a story alongside it! :)

Indeed, of course I would love for you to be there in person next week in New York; thank you for the lovely wishes!

  3. Apropos, that outfit.

Hi everybody! Sorry for my delay in response—I have been either in Las Vegas (woo-hoo!) with questionable Internet access or traveling for almost the entire day yesterday and last night back from said lovely city. :)

Thank you Craig! I didn’t do that on purpose when I chose the costume, but as I’ve been looking forward to the reading the past week, it occurred to me that it seemed to fit. : )

Thanks Donna! I thought of you as I was putting it together this year, as I remember your commenting last year that the “homemade” costumes seemed particularly special. : ) This one was created mostly from things I already had with a little sewing (!) and a few additional purchases (such as that sceptre, which I just love).

Thank you Danielle! I do love to dress up—so glad that shows! ; ) I’m sorry I missed your contest, too. : ( I seemed to be either in a cab, at the airport, or on an airplane all day that day!

Ah, Jeremy…what a charming thing to say. : ) Thank you so much.

Hi ste! Thank you so much! We were in Las Vegas during Halloween, so I got to wear it up and down the Strip while looking at the many other costumes people had on. : ) Much fun!

    Thank you Janine!
